Meet Bobo
"Bobo" is a childhood nickname for our son Zach. Today, he's a recent high school graduate, but his nickname has stuck.
Our family has read the statistics — that Deaf men of color, particularly those with additional disabilities, are far less likely to find work than their hearing peers. So our family set out to build something of our own — a local business that could create a future for our son and other adults with differing abilities.
Rolling kitchen
We crunched the numbers and a donut truck just made sense — so we hit the road.
All hands on deck
All six of our other kids also pitch in. (Except our youngest, because she's only 4!) Together, they're Zach's biggest cheerleaders.
Made in Mattawan
Proudly serving Mattawan, Paw Paw, Lawrence and beyond, week after week.

Sweetness with a purpose
Bobo's Donuts™ is a family-run company on a mission to help families of deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children with intellectual disabilities find the support they need. Our goal is to become a fully inclusive community that embraces everyone's strengths and gifts — and to teach our neighbors ASL through our videos and everyday interactions.
Family & inclusion
Embracing and valuing the strengths every person brings to the table.
Teaching ASL
Sharing American Sign Language online and in our community, one window at a time.
Building futures
Creating meaningful work for adults with differing abilities.
